Position Overview
BigGeo is redefining geospatial intelligence with an AI-ready Discrete Global Grid System (DGGS) that transforms how spatial data is captured, indexed, and monetized. We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to take a leading role in turning high-level product direction into elegant, usable designs. This role requires someone who thrives in a design system environment, communicates effectively with engineering, and collaborates closely with product owners to translate scoped ideas into intuitive user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve BigGeo’s design system, ensuring consistent patterns and scalable components across products.
- Work with product owners to take high-level requirements and scope and translate them into detailed user flows and screen designs.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible, well-documented, and implemented with fidelity.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI in Figma, iterating quickly based on team and user feedback.
- Design interfaces for complex, data-rich workflows that simplify the experience for technical and non-technical users.
- Facilitate design reviews and usability testing sessions to validate design choices and inform iterations.
- Provide mentorship and feedback to other designers, supporting a culture of craft and consistency.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles, accessibility, and systemized thinking across the product organization.
Qualifications
- Expert-level Figma skills, with experience building and managing large-scale design systems.
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally within SaaS or data-heavy platforms.
- Strong ability to translate product requirements into screens, balancing usability with technical constraints.
- Experience collaborating directly with product owners and engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
- Strong understanding of UX processes: user flows, journey mapping, usability testing, and iteration.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to bridge design, product, and engineering.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work quickly in a startup environment.
